Frequently asked questions
Essential information about how BidNow works for customers and professionals.
How it works for customers
How do I post a job?
When logged in with verified email and phone, go to “New listing”. To publish you need: a job description, a location on the map, and at least one photo or video.
How do I choose a professional?
The lowest price is not selected automatically. You review offers, can ask questions under each offer, and accept the professional you prefer.
Can I ask questions before accepting an offer?
Yes. On open listings you can ask publicly (Q&A) or ask privately under a specific offer before accepting it.
How it works for professionals
How do I find jobs?
Set up your account as a professional, verify email and phone, and browse open listings in the jobs list. You can filter by area and category.
How do I submit an offer?
Open an open listing, add a price and/or message (availability, included work) and submit your offer. You can have one active offer per listing.
Can I edit or withdraw an offer?
Yes, while the listing is open and your offer has not been accepted. After acceptance, the offer becomes read-only.
What deadlines apply to active jobs?
To keep active jobs on track:
- 48 hours after acceptance without starting: start reminder.
- 72 hours in progress without marking finished: strong reminder.
- 7 days without a timeline update: a new update is required; a temporary restriction on new offers may apply.
- A new timeline update: lifts the temporary restriction and grants more time before the next check.
Credits and charges
What are credits?
Credits are BidNow’s internal currency for platform actions (publishing a listing, submitting an offer, VIP, etc.). They do not replace payment for the actual job between customer and professional.
What are the current credit charges?
The main BidNow credit charges are:
- New user bonus: 1000 credits
- Publish listing: 100 credits
- Submit offer: 50 credits
- Private listing (additional): 200 credits
- VIP Professional: 1500 credits / month
Is there a success fee?
During the BETA period, the success fee is disabled. No credits are reserved for a success fee after job completion.
Offers, assignment and completion
What happens when I accept an offer?
The listing moves to “Assigned”, the chosen professional is set for the job, and other active offers are rejected.
How is a job completed?
The professional marks the work as finished (with at least one proof photo or video) and the job moves to “Waiting for customer review” (completion_pending). The customer confirms completion with a 1–5 rating and a required comment (at least 10 characters). If the work is not done, the customer can choose “Not completed” and the job returns to in progress.
Can I send a direct request to a specific professional?
Yes. You can target a listing to a specific professional. If they decline, you can make the listing public so others can submit offers.
Cancellations and reviews
How does a cancellation request work?
On an assigned or active job, either participant can request cancellation with a required reason (at least 10 characters). The other party accepts or rejects the request (rejection also requires a reason). The request, acceptance, and rejection are recorded in the job timeline.
What are the review rules?
When the professional marks the job finished, the customer submits a 1–5 rating and a required comment of at least 10 characters to close the job. You can optionally add photos/videos to the review.
What if the customer does not confirm in time?
After the professional marks the job finished, the customer has 72 hours to confirm with a review or to report that the work is not completed. After that window, a temporary restriction may apply (for example pausing new listings) until the required action is completed.
VIP
What is VIP Professional?
VIP is an optional subscription for professionals that adds a profile badge, extra tools (e.g. job alerts), and costs 1500 credits per month (or discounted longer plans).
Does VIP guarantee more assignments?
No. VIP helps your profile stand out and gives extra tools, but the customer always chooses the professional.
Notifications and reports
How do notifications work?
In-app notifications always stay active. From your profile you can enable email for offers, messages, questions, job status, reviews, and direct requests. Push notifications are planned for mobile.
How do I report a technical problem?
Use “Report a problem” in the footer. Choose a type (bug, UI, performance, other), write a description of at least 10 characters, and optionally attach up to 10 photos or videos.
How do I report or block a user?
You can report a listing, message, offer, or user by choosing a reason (spam, contact info, harassment, etc.). In private messages/chat you can also block a user; blocking stops new communication between you.
Security and payments
Does BidNow process payment for the job?
No. BidNow does not process, hold, or guarantee payment for the actual job. Price, payment method, and completion of the transaction are agreed directly between customer and professional.
How is my personal data protected?
We require email and phone verification for platform actions. We discourage sharing direct contact details (phone, email, links) in public questions before an offer is accepted.
What do I pay through BidNow?
BidNow charges credits for platform use (publishing, offers, VIP, etc.). Payment for the job to the professional happens off-platform unless announced otherwise in the future.
